This is the golden rule, the one that you must follow out of character. Be nice to one another. This isn't a difficult one, just keep your drama to yourselves. If you're being harassed or feel that somebody is being overly rude or not nice to you, feel free to pm one of our admins with proof and we'll handle the situation. We're all here to have fun! And remember, even if you do have a problem with somebody on the site, don't take it out on their characters.THE GOLDEN RULE.
POSTING RULES.
ONE. This is a literate to advanced forum, which means that there will be no one liners. Your posts need to be five hundred words minimum. Going over is fine, but any less will not do. Five hundred words is really not a lot and should be fairly easy to achieve. We understand that muse dies or sometimes you're having an off day, and we won't chew your head off if you slip up on the word count once or twice. We will, however, bite your head off if you make a habit out of it. TWO. This is a forum meant to model real life, which means that adult content will be allowed. Sex, drugs, swearing, all that stuff happens in real life. However, if your thread is going to have anything that would be over a pg13 rating, then you need to put a some type of warning in the title to let us know.
PREGNANCY- please pm an admin before your character gets pregnant so that we can either give you the go ahead or nix it. After all, we don't want EVERYBODY popping out babies! Also, if your character has a child already, you need to PM an admin to approve this.
THREE. Power playing and god moding is forbidden. You play your character and your character only. If somebody gives you expressed permission to power play one post or something, then that would be okay, but otherwise it's just majorly irritating and a big no-no.
FOUR. Roleplaying is done in the third person, past tense.
FIVE. Plagiarizing is taken very seriously. You may not post anything that you have not personally created, unless you have gotten permission from whoever created it. Giving credit where credit is due isn't very hard to do at all. Your characters must be your own from your own head. If somebody pms one of our admins with proof that you have plagiarized something, then it will be dealt with and may result in bans or other action.
CREATION RULES.
ONE.No gary/mary sues. Nobody is perfect. Have you ever met somebody that was perfect? No? Me neither. Therefore it is unrealistic for your characters to be perfect, plus it's just annoying. The goal here is to have realistic characters and settings, so please choose appropriate PB's and aim for that. TWO. This one kind of goes hand in hand with the one above it. I understand that bad things happen in life, but it's unrealistic for everything horrible to happen to one character. Like, one or two is fine, but if your character has a huge long list of traumas then it just gets ridiculous, so please use your judgment on this one. The rules phrase might be Taylor Rocks my socks.
THREE. Your PB's MUST BE REAL PEOPLE. No anime or cartoons, they have to be a real person. I don't want to see pictures of your friend's sister, either. That's dangerous to them having their pictures put out there and their identity revealed without their permission. Please use a celebrity or model. If you need help, our admins would be more than happy to suggest PB's or places with PB's.
FOUR. Please try to keep the gender ratio even. If we need to, we'll put bans on a gender, but it would be really helpful if you just tried to do that yourself. We don't want anybody to have six female characters and no males, because that throws off the gender ratio and isn't fair to those that try to alternate between male and female.
FIVE. You may have as many characters as you want, but each one must have their own account. Once your character has been accepted, you have to change your display name to that of your character in all lowercase letters. Please DO NOT post anywhere until after your character has been given the go ahead by one of our admins.
SIX. If you post your application before it's finished, please state somewhere in the title that it's incomplete with either a [ND] or a [WIP]
SEVEN. If your application should be rejected, please feel free to try again. You will have three days to try and fix it up before it is moved to the denied section. On the same note, if you post an incomplete application you will have one week to finish it before it is moved to the denied section.
EIGHT. DO NOT FORGET TO POST IN THE CLAIMS! This is VERY important because if we do not have you documented as claiming a certain face and somebody else wants to use it, it will cause issues, so please just save us the trouble and post in the claims. The face claim is the only place you may post before being accepted. okay, I lied. The rules phrase is 'chocolate cupcakes are love'
NINE. When posting an application, you must post it as followed: LAST, first middle.
OOC RULES.
ONE. DO NOT ADVERTISE ANYWHERE OTHER THAN THE AD BOARD. It is there for a reason and you will have some very pissed off admins if you don't post it on the right board. It's not difficult, do it right. TWO. Do not spam. If you do it by accident, then just delete the post. I don't want to see the same thing posted in like thirty places. It's incredibly annoying.
THREE. Racist and prejudice comments will not be tolerated. End of story. Don't do it. Neither will personal attacks against anybody.
SIG/ICON RULES.
ONE. No nude pictures in your signature. Use your brain and make sure that the ones that you use are tasteful and ones that aren't going to offend anyone. TWO. Icons must be of your character, or at least have your character in them.[/blockquote][/blockquote]
